I have been to lots of koi shows and the Las Vegas Show has been a really fun and special show to attend. It is especially exciting to know it is only their 2nd show.
OK, they have the advantage of being in Las Vegas which is certainly a draw by it's self. My hat is off to them for taking full advantage of the experienced talent from other clubs to help them with benching, fish handling, and show computer program. Not doubt their members will become experience and able to handle these skilled tasks in future show.
They have taken "fun" to a new level using their hometown "Vegas" theme. They made their Saturday night banquet a extra special event. they has Great live music, the best buffet I can remember at a koi event, "Elvis" and "Show-a Girl" to give out the awards. Fantastic handmade ceramic tiles and fused glass trophies that were unique and beautiful. They had a fantastic auction with great items that helped them raise money for show expenses. Lots of great folks added to the fun and made it all seem to fly by.
I am blown away by their members talents and enthusiam. Special thanks from Martha & me to all the Las Vegas Koi Club members for a super time and special inspiration to take some of your idea's and ideals back to our club's show and make sure fun becomes a even larger part of our koi events.
This has become one of the must attend koi shows anywhere. Word to the Koi Kichi - start planning to be at the 2008 Las Vegas show.
Viva Las Vegas!!
