Missing fish

Just thought I would pass this on.

One of my customers called yesterday to inform me to be on the lookout for all of his fish. It seems someone netted all of them out of his pond while he was at work. He had 16 large Koi from 18-30 inches.

Shame on those that would steal a mans pride and joy.

It is a shame, but it does not seem like it is something that should happen in Bluff City, Tennessee.

I thought this was going to be a post about a fish lost in the skimmer or something. Can the thread title be changd to "Stolen Fish"?

As an aside, how common is fish theft? Obviously some koi are extremely valuable, but what sort of person buys a stolen fish?

Well that is beyond low. Are there any current pictures of them??? I'd plaster them all over the hobby boards to screw up the thief's chances to profit from it.

Not a smart thief, unless they are going in the thief's own pond. Takes work to catch them, bag them, haul them ... and then you have to find a buyer. Doubt the pawn shop will take them. In the end, the thief would do better with the lawn furniture at a local flea market.
