I just ordered another bag of Aquion yesterday....wheat germ this time. For me, cost is a big factor. But I won't feed low grade food either (like trout chow or mazuri). I need a quality food that is readily available and is nuritious. Aqion seems to fit the bill nicely.

Got It !

I feed A-Life (probably 50%) of the pellet I use . I guess I'm one of the few who use it , it's hard to find . I feel it's a pretty good food for the price . I add OSI Wheat Germ or Hikari Wheat Germ with it . I don't pay much mind too if the Koi like it (they like everything).

I watch to see how many solids are on the bottom of the Pond & SC .

I've not jumped on the Saki-Hikari wagon yet . Just not sure about spending that much money on a food for a $250 Koi ?

no free advertising

I buy my food from edit by mod NO FREE ADVERTISING and my fish absolutely love it. They go crazy when I even approach the pond. I have no health issues with my fish, and my water stays healthy too. It has all the right ingredients, and I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for that expensive stuff that pretty much is the same thing.

I tried the Saki Hikari food once, and it looks like the same stuff I buy at the place above. Those are CRAZY prices. I get 50lbs for about $75 including shipping, and it lasts me about 2 months. My fish eat like crazy too though.

Just my $.02 worth

I've edited out your link to a site that does not pay for advertising on Koi-Bito. There is no free advertising on this site. Thanks.

I guess Momotaro pays for advertising here because we often see their web site mentioned.

I buy Rangen koi color pellets because the food is top quality and very fresh for about $1 per pound (plus another $1 per pound for shipping). I don't see the point in overpaying for quality goods.

Thats not the point Steve. There is posting about a product and then there are posts that are simply ads.

Like I said, I wasn't advertising it, merely mentioning where I buy my food. It is comparable to the high priced stuff, and is an extremely low cost solution. Most people cannot afford thousand dollar fish, and they cant afford to pay $200+ for 20 lbs of food when they can buy 50lbs of it for $75 from discountkoifood. I have tried quite a few foods, and my fish cannot tell the difference, but my wallet can. Since I cant post the link, all you have to do is Google discountkoifood, and you will find it.

Sorry if I polluted your board.
