So..a crazy little story for my fellow koi-kichi. My wife and I had run the gamut to have a baby..all crazy infertility treatments..a fake surrogate who took our money. Just a tough situation for years. Well..we found a surrogate in our state. Had her implanted with an embryo from a fertility doctor..and here she is!!
Now...the koi part of the story. She was supposed to be born by planned c-section on fri. I am watching kodama auctions to get one more showa this season...to replace the one I lost 2 weeks ago. I bid and win the 14.6inch Isa female showa. Woo hoo...I'm thrilled. The phone rings at 11pm..it's the surrogate....MY water broke!!! I'm heading to the hospital!!! We rush a 1 hour drive in about 30-40mins. Well, she held out until a c-section the next morning. My Daughter was born at 8:49am oct 11,2007. She was 7lbs 9oz and 19inches long. Eating like a champ and had a perfect 10 apgar score. She is home now..and I am thrilled!!! Her name is April Lee Schwartz. So..the Showa will be her first official koi. I have named the koi April Showers!!! Two Tategoi in one week...I am beyond thrilled!!!!
