October is a time for koi harvests in many parts of the world it seems,... Canada is no different... well

unless you're from Alberta to Manitoba !

Here is a mud pond pull of a member here at Koi Bito, Eugene. It's been very interesting seeing the progress of his koi coming out of the mud over the past few years. It's funny, with all the changes (good and bad) it only takes one small glimpse of their backs to bring a smile to a koi kichi's lips.

Here's Ian having a look before the harvest began, looking for anchor worm and or any other health issues... plus a little 'koi bonding' before the netting starts.

These pictures were taken by our friend Pete,.. his koi lady, Peg, was helping Ian net/bag the koi.

I promised someone I would document the event so no playing with the koi today for me...

Only about one or two koi were under 60cm ... this wasn't one of them LOL

It was a fun day for all,... maybe Eugene will see this and tell us a bit more about where is koi come from...?
Kind Regards,
Terri
