Ojiya/Isawa Bound PSKoi -Fall Edition 2007

Hi Russ, thanks for sharing all the pictures with us. I was wondering if you are going to visit any other breeders in Isawa, like you did in your previous trips.

No, we plan only to see Toshio Sakai this time.

Today we started out at Hosokai Koi farm. We were looking for a nice female Ochiba-Goshiki. We went through everything and could only find a male. Tadashi made a phone call, to his brother Masaru, and after he got off the phone Tadashi said "we have a concrete pond in the mountains and maybe a female Ochiba-Goshiki". It did not take much convincing for us to get into the back of his truck and head up there. the scenery was gorgeous and the Koi.........oh my. It turns out that the concrete pond was a combination of sellable koi and tategoi. The tategoi were off limits, but we sure got to enjoy seeing them.

This was our first sunny day since we arrived and, after looking at some of the pictures I downloaded, there are some washed out colors because of the bright sun. I am still posting these pictures because I am hoping you can still appreciatre what you are seeing.

We had heard that Yagenji had a good harvest of Shiro Utsuri so we decided to go over. We were also looking for a nice Sansai Chagoi. We had run into Yamazaki at Jusco, a local Wal Mart type store, and were talking about how hard it was to find a nice Chagoi. he made some phone calls and said that Yagenji had two or three. We figured we could kill two birds with one stone so we headed over. We were not disappointed.

bummer I was slow on the draw. what are there age and size ? Is the one in the second to last photo spoken for as well?
