New to Koi!!! :)

hi i'm new to koi and ponds. i recently came into ownership of a 100 gallon metal tank and was wondering if this would be suitable for a couple small koi, added if i got a filter and oxygen bubbler???

Hello anyway welcome to the hobby. But I think your koi will outgrow that tank fast.

Koi need a minimum of 250 gallons each, with a minimum pond size of 1000 gallons. Your metal tank may be better suited for goldies. Although some metals may not even be safe for them. Maybe just plants and some mosquito fish would be more appropriate.

San Antonio, but ya i suppose ya'll are right about the size of it. i was also considering just stocking it with a few bluegill instead since i'm into fishing as well

If you really want to get hooked, your welcome to attend our meetings of the Texas Koi & Fancy Goldfish Society. We usually meet out at Water Garden Gems on east I-10.

better watch out....this hobby is REALLY addictive!! Before you know it, you'll be digging up your back yard and installing a 9,000 gallon koi pond. Trust me....been there, done that. Only now I want a bigger one too.
