Ken,
Tom is right i talked to the same guy that had his pond ph go under 5 . Not something to mess with !!!. I live in Anaheim and the ash that fell in my pond and back yard was enough to bother my fish. I made two water changes last week that was the equevalent of 75 %. That made them very happy, when they are happy so am I !!

Sorry for calling you Ken
Kelvin,
Something you may have not considered is the fact that not only trees and brush were burning a lot of homes were lost. That means plastic , computors, paint, petrolem products I think you get the jest of what I mean. Air quality was not healthy for us let alone the debrie that fell into our ponds

Yes you did Louie talk to my good buddy, he was lucky to save the house and his koi.

Did Lok say he was bringing home his kohaku from Japan?
He told me he was going to grow it 1 year longer in Japan/ then he told Peter he was shipping it back. So whats he doing?
I hope to make it by Andy's Thursday.

I hope everythings good with you and Ginger,
Tom

Flounder: My water is generally pH 8.0. There are periods of the year when the source water (tap water) goes down to 7.8.

our ponds ph is stable 8.0 all year around

out tap water is filtered before put into the pond, the filter is about 30$ and filters out chlorine and i think zinc its really helpful because if you leave the water on its not as bad for the fish so they can survive longer before you see that the pond is overflowing
