Just as a side note on water safety for kids....I am getting this system for my grandchild. It's called a safety turtle. Its a bracelet that the child wears and if the bracelet gets wet, alarms go off. I know of some people who have pools and their children wear their bracelets all the time (except for bathing). They are a great safety device....although no device can replace supervision.

Kevin, Jane and baby Khoi sends their very heartfilled thanks to all. He was very touched as he read the warm wishes from everyone. He is doing lots of diaper changes and now has even less sleep but he LOVES IT! For curious minds....he would like to share this picture of baby Khoi.

when i see the picture of a relative newborn, especially when their features are still more babyish than boy ( or girl) I always find myself wondering.....
Will he love koi like his Dad. In the future will we have someone who will find the cure for cancer. what will his gifts be?

I know with my son, i just expected him to become a fisherman like I was and like my Dad. But it became obvious at an early age he liked things round that moved. One summer he came home to say he wanted to sign up for little league, practice and games would make fishing with dad a non event. At first I was hurt, then after decided he could play ball and I could fish. That went on for one summer. That winter I got every book and video on baseball and studying like a cracy man. I signed up to coach a little league team. We went to every seminar put on by a major league player. he got the best instruction and equipment.

I tell this story not to talk about myself but to pass along something I learned. These were the greatest times we shared that we still talk about today. By giving up my interest and encouraging my son to be the best he could be in what he wanted, we built a framework of closeness that's still very special today, ripe with memories.

We never really know what we are getting ourselves into once we bring a child into the world!! Kevin and Jane have a great deal of joy ahead of them.
