The pond so far, still incomplete but getting there

here is the pond so far. Definetly not up to future standard, but its on the way and its making progress.
there are 5 jets installed, hopefully in the future it will knock out deadspots in the flow of water when we install the pumps. I want to hold off though because winter is approaching.
The skimmer is not installed either, but will be soon, if not before or during spring.
I guess most of the progress has been with Jets and the rockwork, as you can see. There also is no UV sterilizer installed ATM. so greeeeeen water. Oh well the fish dont care.
That fish there is the same fish in my avatar (from kari and russ), it is much bigger now. Doesnt look to have changed much.

What a lovely setting for a pond. Skimming off the leaves in the fall will certainly keep you out of trouble.

Thank you. Yes, that chore proves to be a very hard. When the skimmer comes, it will not be taken for granted.

A pond is never truly finished -- but you seem to be on the right track. I didn't add a skimmer to our existing Koi pond, but fortunately for us, there are no trees in our yard and I keep the entire pond covered with shade screens most of the time. I definitely plan to incorporate a surface skimmer in our next pond, which I hope to begin sometime next spring.

I would recommend no rocks on the bottom of a koi pond.
4sure add bottom drain...

For what its worth (my opinion)

Oh, sorry. Yes there are no rocks on the bottom of the koi pond. There are only rock borders of the pond. all of which are mortared in.
There is also a bottom drain.

Thumbs up Thanks everyone

I appreciate it from all of you
it is getting there, as what bob said. Slowly but surely. Mistakes have been made without a doubt, and we will probably pay for it until we fix them. (cough "bog" cough).
to be honest. I was a bit scared on how bito would take it so far, but I am pleased to hear most have accepted it for what it is. For this, I can say my respect has grown for a lot of the bito-ers here.
I look forward to growing old with you all.
I feel bito is getting better by the day.

I can only hope you can mature each year you stay in the hobby. Your pond is nice and if you enjoy it, that's all that matters.
