generators-gotta love em

Call it intuition, or call it lucky...Saturday I got the olde honda out and ran it for a half hr, filled it up with gas and had it available for the storm predicted for sunday.

About 5 pm as the sun was setting and the wind was screaming, the lights went dark. Around 9:30 they came back on. The generator ran my pond and living room. ( a light and TV to see the seahawks) I didn't have enough umph to run my heater so dropped 3 degrees in the pond.A fireplace kept us warm. BUT
the reason I posted was with the weird weather we have lately, boy does it ever pay to have something to turn to that's ready and waiting....

The key Dick is to have........not to go and get!!!

I also have one (not Honda) its just a fuzz shy of running the AC...........

Glad to see you pulled through ok Dick! I had woondered if all was ok for the Washington Folk. We bought a nice generator last year, but I don't relish the thought of maybe having to use it!

This is almost scary though here, the winds missed us for once!

I've ignored my generator for a year. Going to put new gas and stabilizer in it this week.

Power went out the other night about 2:15 in the morning.

Only took 5 minutes to wheel the Honda 3000 out of the garage, fire it up and get the necessary stuff plugged in.

Peace of mind? Priceless.

I think the key for me and why I mentioned it was that it really pays to run the thing and get familar with it. We use it so little that it's very easy to add to the stress levels when under duress we attempt to rectify the situation.
Was encouraged to see that others have em and know how to use em.

I have one but need to get a wheel kit for it since the thing is sooo heavy. I run it every 2-3 weeks just to lube all the internals.
