Pro's and Con's of joining a koi club?

It's worthwhile to join your local club, even if it's just to support it. While meetings aren't for everyone, there are plenty of other valuable things clubs do or provide.

Join Up!

I'm a member of two clubs, SFBAKC and NorCal ZNA.I know of several folks who are members of many more.
The chance to share, learn, and enjoy cannot be attained through reading websites.
Just be careful about raising your hand...

The people in the LV club are a wonderful bunch and they are just new enough to have lots of knowledge and enthusiasm, but not enough to have factions and the usual political back and forth.

Mostly pros, only a very few cons. The people stuff of course and the control types can be pains , but all in, the new friends you make and kindred spirits you find , make the difficult people bearable. JR

on the plus side, lots of benefits of learning and meet other others with same interests.

on the downside, sometime you have to deal with BS issues but I guess that happens with any other hobby clubs.

if comparing pluses vs minuses, pluses still outweights minuses so join and be pro-active or participate in activities. remember you only get out what you put in.

Be reasonable and speak up and let your voice be heard. If the BS continues, quit the damn thing. It ain't worth the stress.

Las Vegas Club

I am in Las Vegas on the second week of Jan 08 travelling all the way from Africa. Does anybody have contact details of any of the members. I would love to meet some US koi hobbyists.
