Club membership prices.

I rounded out my choice of clubs to join and LV sounds like a good club to join. I researched ZNA clubs around my area and I can not understand how the price of one club is more expensive, especially if they are in the same state. I checked into Southern California ZNA's membership price and it is around $90 w/magazine, when Northern California ZNA's membership price is $140 or so w/magazine. I did some research and it seems the norm for ZNA membership around the country is around $85-90 w/magazine. Coming from a state that doesnt have a state tax the $140 seems steep. Well anyways, I'll probably send my check to the cheaper and much closer one since I need to renew my magazine too.

The cost of living in NorCal must be the reason why the price is so high.

Thanks again to all with the advice,
Todd

My ZNA Club dues are $85 . From what i've been told , most of that goes to Japan .

My AKCA Club is only $20 . Which I think is way to low .

To some extent you get what you pay for. I pay more for my ZNA club membership than my AKCA, but I believe my AKCA club should double or triple it's dues to provide more services. The problem is that they might loose a good number of members if they were to do so.

ZNA chapters

I did go to the ZNA website and found those names. The Moto-Kara website is no longer working so I presumed they were not active, although I did send an email to Ron Goforth to check, and I might be confused by the Lone Star ZNA and the Lone Star Koi Club which is a ACKA not a ZNA. I'll send Beth Grunden an email to see if they are active. When I google MKK-ZNA I get two website that are not them. People just sitting on the domains.

thanks

Mike

Mike,

Kinda one in the same. If you go to the website and open a news letter you'll see they are the same folks. AKCA and Zen Nippon Airnnka, best of both worlds..........................
Oh, go into club info for the details....................

Lone Star Koi Club

Ron is the go to person.

Annual ZNA membership includes 12 monthly issues of Nichirin Magazine. Cost is about $100 per year and I beleive most if not all of that goes to Japan. Some established ZNA clubs are able to subsidize their members dues from the club treasury and reduce the amount paid. Other newer clubs need to build a treasury to buy equipment to hold club events and shows.

I would advise going to a few club meetings/events just to be sure you will enjoy the activities and the membership. Better to join a group you feel meets your needs than focus on saving a few dollars.
