I fell for an otherwise beautiful tosai just last year with that fin and decided I will never do it again. So there are a few fish in this grow-out that went straight to my "NO" folder regardless of their other characteristics.

Anybody agree? Or think it's silly?
I kicked a few to the curb for exactly that reason.

Jeff

I totally agree with you about "bent" or previously damaged pecs or any other fins for that matter. Becomes quite a distraction as they grow. I eliminated several for the same reason that would have received a better look for other reasons.

Well, Cody, don't feel too bad. When I sent my short list to Jim last night, #105 was #1 on my list. It was my #2 pick overall and it took me quite a while to decide between it and #87 which I took in the third round. Hope my second pic makes it til it's my turn. Geeeeezzzz!!!!!!

For the next contest, we should be doing a lottery draw for EACH ROUND. Actually, that's how I thought this one was going to be done!? I agree, it would have at least SEEMED to be a more fair way of doing things. Either that, or after the first round is done, then do one more lottery the same as this for the rest of the fish. I still prefer the first method best.

Suggestion - Let's complete this picking by the 15th

Suggestion for rounds 6, 7, and 8:
1. Submit 20 picks to Jim North.
2. Give one day between round.
3. Let's get this wrap up by the 15th
4. There are more to life than just gluing yourself the computer screen and waiting for your turn to pick.

Any taker????

There is??? We are an obsessed bunch, aren't we?? lol!!

Actually...the rules can't be changed now. Some people don't post or lurk here often enough to see a change in the rules, and it would not be fair to them to change them in the middle of the game. But I DO agree with you.

Its a good suggestion, but you'd have to have 100% takers to keep it fair. Since the picking order was already posted including specific dates and times there is the possibility that a few may be ignoring the thread until it gets close to their turn as previously posted. (angst avoidance...)

Looks like CG and I must've been typing at the same time.... Great minds and all that donchaknow

Mike....that was discussed several pages ago. I think that's the way Jim is planning to do the next growout. It was also suggested that what ever the pick order is for the first round, it will be reversed for the second. So whoever gets first pick in the first round will get last pick in the 2nd round.

CarolinaGirl,
It's just a thought. I don't like to see people snap out and have hard feeling at one another. The longer they wait for the pick the shorter the temper will get.
Luke,
Let's get back on line. I, the newbie want to learn. You've done a lot of good for the board.

On here sometimes you just have to suck it up and roll with the punches.
No harm meant.
Don't lose any sleep over it....

Peace,
Tom

Some of the forums across the pond are a lot tougher on each other
