Koiczar/Mike,

Yes that would have been better but unfortunately that wasn't brought up beforehand and I didn't think of it. The good news is that at least you still get to pick a koi instead of having one assigned to you. For the next grow-out we will do it so everyone gets a first round pick. For people who bought 2 or 3 koi we will probably just have a lottery combining their second and third choices BUT we will discuss that whhen its time for the next one. Unfortunately when we started this one the discusion turned quickly to what do the koi look like and when do we pick instead of discussing the finer details a little more indepth. Like I said before: Live and learn

All, No we cannot change the schedule. Again that is something we will work on for the next one. Please remember this is the first grow-out at Bito so there are a few bumps in the road. If you all want to blame anyone for the bumps then feel free to blame me. Thanks.

Jim,
No blame allowed!!! Life is too short. Let's move one. If it weren't for you and Mysitc Koi, there would be none of this fun stuff. You've done a great job, like they say "you are the man in my book"
By the way, when is the next grow out will be and what is it? Showa, I hope (It's my favorite of all, the king of all koi)
Thanks,
Vinh

*hands on hips* Ayup, I blame you, Mister!

*wags virtual fingie in his face*

I blame you for an absolutely fabulous first ever KoiBito Growout Challenge! It has been fun and infuriating, exciting and depressing and everything in between for this groundbreaking/shaking premier event.

And I thank you for making this an overall pleasant experience! *gives him one great big bearhug*

It could have been way worse. We could have fish assigned sight unseen and all the angst associated with that. The future growouts will be streamlined because of the first with its glitches, and I for one am looking forward to it....

Jim

First of all, let me clear the air a bit - I WASN'T COMPLAINING, just making an observation and adding a suggestion for NEXT TIME. You can't be responsible for anything except putting together a great idea and fun event. Kudos to you and Bill and Shawn. It's always going to be frustrating waiting for your turn to pick. You're right, everyone was so excited to get this going, we forgot to look at how things would/could be done. It is what it is, and it was fine for the first event. Sorry if you took my post the wrong way. It was not meant in that context.

Yeah, this is a blast. No blame whatsoever, only thanks. You could run it the same way next time and that would be just great. Prolonging the fun for a month has had its positives--a little bit of a crowd has gathered and gotten acquainted. I expect the continued participation will be surprisingly high.

One of the Lurkers here ...

Just HAVE to say (I've not wanted to clutter things up) I've read every post - refreshing and waiting ... I'm one who seldom posts but reads/learns, and my reasons for not getting in on this seem a bit silly now - wish I had! I am VERY IMPRESSED at the way this is being run and the general tone of the posts. Speaks well for the board and all the kichi ...
