A question for Koi retailers

I would like to know why on some sites you see the price of the koi for the most part but some of the koi on the same site, the price is "call for more information".

When I see that I know they are too expensive for me, but was wondering why it is done. What does it accomplish?

Just something this ole country boy was wondering.

So people can call ask price, then the dealer can explain why it is expensive....The thing I dont like is when they put as the breeder "Niigata"....Anyways, I always get this from dealers..."Tony, too expensive" when I ask for price. hahahahaha

Also, I think that it might be a way of attracting new customers. You might call on a fish, get a price, and then they can say, "but I have one similar in your price range." Or it may be that there are different prices for different people. One of their good customers who will show the fish may get a better price.

Ray Abell marks very clearly on his site when he states call for price it's at least $10k or more.

Moms and Dads are like that. Don't you remember asking one or the other for things depending on the answer you knew you'd get!?
