Which one of these Showa would be your choice to grow on and why? They are roughly 42-45cm...

With the all the usual caveats about judigng pics of koi, &/etc., I'd pick koi D.

Even though the conformation doesn't appear to be the best amongst these pix, the superior shiro, tsubo sumi and tight motoguru all bespeak quality. Time will tell . . .

Then, I would like to add "A " because it is most safe, although she is not really my type
Tony-san, Which one would you like?

If I were selecting based on potential growth, I would select A. If I was looking at potential for growth, possible color development and pattern I would go with D and then C. Junichi, I agree, A is not my "style" but still is a very high quality fish that I feel will, if grown in a mud pond for two more years, attain 80cm for sure. The other two, maybe 70 to 75 cm. Still not bad but, it depends on what the prospective new owner wants from his new charge.

The choice for me would be between A & E and I'd pick A. B & D both seem to have some unevenness in the color.

Hi Mike. That is a hardest task for me to read their mind if they want to grow big & fast or not..... Yes, I feel that A would grow bigger than the others and B would be biggest one since she has a slightly lower quality...

For beni, it looks to me that A has the best beni in general terms of evenness, thickness and kiwa and closest to Kohaku beni quality. But.... (I have no confidence to explain it well and maybe hard to understand )..... that is a common & ordinary type of beni which we can find it everywhere. ( I am taking it in a high standard level. )

On the other hand, Beni on E and possibly D are pink beni type. Those are the beni which we are looking for as Dainichi's beni. it may not stable beni and Yes, harder to grow Jumbo size....but I am a gambler

I read the 1st 4 post & got concerned that no one picked A b/c that's my original choice based on the body & beni.

Tony, are these FS?
