Ah, Bob, another professional jargon acronym. ...I figured dentists' teeth stayed white because the hygieneists fit them in during their free time.

I would only consider a female with a slight yellow tint but even then I tend to look at the nose of the female and include that in the judgement of whether to buy or not. I take it a nutrient rich environment can cause the yellow tint. And I guess there is foods that help with the yellow but sex and genetics provide the over-riding influence.

Are breeder's successfully achieving a whiter head on their males? Are certain bloodlines more inclined to have the darker heads? How much success have you had with males in your pond?

White male

Yes definitely Mike. Breeders who are pairing sets for improving quality of white, and skin and color characteristics are improving male Koi in the process.

Best Wishes,
Brady

A female sister - the quality of white on the male sibling (the post above) is very similar to the white on the female.

Best Wishes,
Brady

Another male sibling. Overlook the 4 flicked scales on the side.

Pretty consistent white from male to female.

Best Wishes,
Brady

That is porcelain white. Now- the breeder must consider the whole package. With the porcelain white, the beni and sumi must be equally strong or the white will place an asterick on any weak areas. So, that type of white doesn't work with all fish, I would guess.
