Hey Russ

I thought you would like to see the beginning of, if all goes as planned, a good thing The weather has not been cooperating as I had hoped, however determination will prevail. I told the neighbors I was building a koi pond, however based on their reactions I get the feeling they are a little stunned! Wait, no, a lot stunned!! I don't know if it was the equipment that "dug the hole", the "six ten-yard dump drucks that removed the dirt", or "the hole that remained after the digging and dirt removal". Their reactions looked something like this I just stood their smiling, and I'm pretty sure they think I am "out of my mind"! Maybe so, but the fish are going to love it! I don't know if I am having more fun messing the neighbors or building my new pond. Hope you enjoy the pics.....

Looks real good Mathew. Good structure with both horizontal and vertical rebar.

Hah! I knew it, I knew you had to be up to something. You have been sooo quiet lately. Congratulations you got the house of your dreams and now the pond. I am excited for you guys.

P.S. Are you coming down in February?

Oh Yeah, tell Kari thank you! Since she told my wife at the koi show she wouldn't sell her a fish if we didn't have a pond, my wife expedited the implementation of the pond. Apparently my wife doesn't like the words "no fish for you"....

I heat my pond in the winter, and the insullation will make maintaining the pond temperature easier on my wallet. I have also insullated 70% of the plumbing including the 4" plumbing. I did the same thing on my Q-tank and it worked wonders.
