Koi Pellet...If you could make it the way you wanted it....

What ingrediants would you prefer be included in a good staple koi pellet. We all have a pretty good idea of what the analysis should be (i.e. protein, fats, ash, pot, etc.) so that would be a given UNLESS you feel this should be included, please do add that as well.

If you were to design a food for your high end collection and feed as a staple, what would you include?

I know there are variables to consider as the age of fish and seasons, so lets just narrow this down to koi over 2 years of age and summer feeding.

Keep in mind that this "designer food" would be a staple food. Others can be added to the mix if you want additional "enhancements" to show prep, etc.

Take the Hakari wheat germ pellert and mix with 1/3 Hi Silk Pellet and I would have my dream food. That is if the price was reduced in half.

Well I agree with the first part of your mix, Steve.

I use 2/3 Hikari Wheatgerm and substitute 1/3 Ogata Special (instead of the Hi Silk) for a summer growth pellet mix.

I agree with your first part but substitute the Ogata Special for Ogata Silk Power.

I am not looking for growth, growth will come. The silk helps the skin and luster of the whites.
