OK, just a stab here. Main pond has 21 koi in it.

69-71% gosanke.

Others are: 1 matsukawabake, one heisi nishiki, one soragoi (leaving in Spring), one kin ki utsuri, one chagoi, and oh my gosh 1 long fin - cause I have had her for 12 years and cannot part with. I AM 'thinking about getting her adopted out, seriously'.- if Scott asks (well, she is a sanke)

2 domestic breeders - Nisei Koi Farm and TagKoi

Japanese breeders - Marudo, Isa, Kazuto, Sakai and SFF ...Wishing for more.

Ok, I want to play:

Currently have:
Showa - Otsuka
Showa - Brandwood
Kohaku - Brandwood
Sanke - Brandwood
Chagoi - Marusei
Lemon Hariwake - Yamazaki
2x Shiro Utsuri - Omosako

Have not arrived, either mud pond koi, or 2008 growout koi:
Kohaku - Quality/Nisei
2x Sanke - Shintaro
Shiro Utsuri - Shintaro
Shiro Utsuri - Kaneko
2x Shiro Utsuri - Omosako

Doing the math, including those that I have not received yet, I have 15 koi that are:
7 Gosanke = 47%
6 Shiro Utsuri = 40%
11 Japanese Import = 73%

Considering my goal when I started was to keep my pond lightly stocked with "mostly gosanke" I think I am failing at my goal, especially since my pond is not even complete at I am at about my stocking limit. While I like shiro utsuri a lot, 40% of any one variety seems excessively high, but ... errr... I was too tempted by the fun and learning of growout contests.

- Wayne, now just needs to complete his main pond so he has some place to grow them in less confined conditions.

We have mostly gosanke. I would say about 65% of the herd is comprised of Sanke, Showa and Kohaku. I have several Shiro Utsuri and a few more coming in this winter. Can't resist a good shiro as most here already know. The rest are 1 Matsuba (which hubby just loves), 2 Kujaku, 1 buda goromo, 1 Ogon and I think a few others. I keep about 5 mutts inside which keeps the Q-tank and the larger holding tank filters cycled. Soon we'll be measuring and photographing so I'll know for sure then.
