regards to: will the sumi come back

OK here is my story: I bought this fish when she was about 9 inches long. She had the blackest sumi running down her dorsal area, with the rest of her being white. I bought her because she looked so unique.I do not have a picture at this stage. I wish I did.
The first picture she is about 3 1/2 years old. The second picture she is 4 years old. The third and fourth picture she is 5 years old. I almost got read of her at the dull white stage but I decided to give her another year. She grew very rapidly in her early stages and is now 22 inches. So can sumi change? You tell me.
