Now this is about the best example of a show with smaller numbers of fish, but QUALITY up the wazooo!! I think it is not necessarily the number, but the quality of the fish entered!! I still go back and visit that thread with all the pictures of those outstanding examples!!!

I can't speak for Sue but the 3 month minimum holding period would be on the honesty system. Just like the request that no fish are brought to the shows with a known disease(example KHV) or a known parasite.

See post 13 and comments by 113892. It is part of the entry form. When you sign it you confirm several things. One is that the fish is KHV free (how do you monitor that?); Second, that the fish is parasite free (how do you monitor that?) and finally, that you have owned the fish and had it in your personal care for at least 3 months. All of these "agreements" are based upon the honor system. It is just one more item that you, as an exhibitor, have said by signature that is true.

The ZNA Nor-Cal - Santa Clara (SCKWGC) Sakura Young Koi Show was the same way. Not a lot of Koi but the quality was outstanding.

Quality is the one factor a show must have, people come to see great fish to learn what this hobby is about. Cant take away from the quality here in the states but I do have the say we are still behind the rest of the world when it comes to quality of fish at a koi show....well I take that back, maybe a head of Australia and Brazil when it comes to quality.
