ScaleBlaster water softener (no maintenance)

Hi ,

I just browsing around internet .
And I found out : ScaleBlaster water softener which looks like easy to maintenance (doesn't use any chemicals) .
Link : SCALEBLASTER The water softener alternative .

Any experience to use on koi ponds to lower water hardness.

Any negatives ?

Please share your comments .

Thanks,
Riwin

No Good!

If you read the product information provided on the website it tells you that it uses "sonic pulses to change the electrical and physical properties of limescale forming calcium molecules cuasing them to repel, rather than to adhere to water pipes and fixtures."

I does not get rid of hard water it just "repels" it from your pipes. I don't see how this is helpful at all.

Some of these types of "softeners" also use a combination of copper and some other metal for them to work. The reaction between the two metals chemically alters the water in some way that I don't understand. If copper is the system and it comes into contact with the water, I would be concerned about using it with Koi.

Actually this device is not really, in my understanding, a true water softener. It is a device that is wired to your copper pipes. No water flows through this device.
