Ok, so after Lee and Russell complemented and then complained about the fish guards protruding into the pond I tried to make something better. Usually they are proprietary and take time to make because skimmers have many different opening sizes so I made something more universal. Installs in seconds, spring loaded and is adjustable. Thanks for making me think about it!

Hi Russell, just out of curiosity, how does a koi get stuck in a no-niche skimmer. Does it get stuck between the skimmer and the wall or did the koi jump into the skimmer.....I am just sitting thinking of ways that a koi can get stuck in a no-niche skimmer and my light bulbs ain't flashing.

Hey Luke, yes they are plastic. They work just like the larger ones you get for curtains but these are smaller and plastic not metal. I also drilled some small holes through the sleeve to minimize the stagnate water that would stay inside them.
