You can do them in any ink that you have on hand.
We chose red and also blank ink.
Here are a couple fuzzy photos of the actual stone hanko. The carved stone is over 300 years old and carved in China.
The Hanko design is carved into the bottom which took 3 months to do by a gentleman in Japan.
To use the Hanko you add ink to it and then press it on the doucument that you wish to have it applied to.
Ours is HUGE.

I will also find the interpetation for you as well.
Also Hankos can be used similiar to what a Notary does here making it a binding signature.
