If you have 3'+ depth and a deicer to keep a hole open you will be fine. As for the waterfall, a pond have to be pretty deep for significant temperature stratification to occur. WHat you need to be really careful about it that ice and snow doesn;t start to build up around the sides of the waterfall and divert the flow out of the pond. | I meant that the air temp was 19 not the pond water. My temperature was about 44 degrees a couple of days ago but the air temps were warmer. My concern is that the waterfall will lower the temps too quickly. My pond is 4 ft deep so there should always be above freezing temps near the bottom of the pond. |
