Showa Grow Out Contest?

With the popularity of this Shiro Utsuri Contest with Mystic Koi, my question is how many participants do you think will jump on the SHOWA GROW OUT CONTEST*?

1. Do you think 200 Koi for 154 participants will be enough for the contest?
2. Will the max number of fish per participant (3) be reduced?
3. Any ideas on how to get a pulse on the number of participants will be in the next grow out?
4. Will we need to throw numbers in the hat to see if we get a chance to play?
5. OR.....Do you you think there are thousands watching a couple hundred play to learn? Either way it is a win win event.
6. When can we start the next Grow Out?

The * SHOWA GROW OUT CONTEST mentioned in the first paragraph is simply my affirmation, after much wishful thinking, to WILL the next grow out contest to highlight this wonderful fish. By no means is this to be taken as fact as many will attest to the fact I drink too much coffee, sleep to little & talk to much!

I originally posted this in the SU Grow out thread. Oopps! I took the good advice to start a new thread and not clutter up the SU thread. Looking forward to everyone's feedback.

If indeed it is a Showa contest it should be very interesting too............. I would think with all the participation in the Shiro contest the Showa contest will be even wilder.................................

Whoa, whoa and whoa. You guys can discuss another grow-out all you want BUT I've already started making arrangements. I think you guys will be happy with it BUT you all are putting the cart before the ox. Slow down and we'll get there I promise.

I'll say it HERE.
having Shiro utsuri as the variety in a grow out contest is the best it can be.
Whether this was a stroke of genius or a stroke of dumb luck I don't care.

But since "Sumi" (especially "Showa Sumi") is so fickled for the first couple of years breeders have a most difficult time retaining their best Shiros and Showas.
If ever there is a variety that afford the hobbyist to get a Grand Champion it will be a Shiro or Showa away from a breeder for a pittance as a butt-ugly tosai these are the ones.
So Kudos..to whatever stroke it was...dumb or genius

What can I say? I'm a multi-tasker.

No disrespect intended Jim, I know your working you tail off on this.

Are we there yet?

I don't know about genius but choosing Omosako shiro utsuri was very intentional. The best part about grow-outs is seeing the change over the year in many koi with many different owners. Thats something you can only get with utsuri and showa. Dumb luck was not involved in picking the variety .
