What questions could we possibly answer for you? I think you will be answering all of the questions. You could have a tour, bring out some Koi and have a nice discussion. It is worth a try. Game? It could be an open event or a club event. I think many people are fascinated by a breaders life. Even though you are gluttens for punishment.

Maybe, but each year I see so many undercurrents in the breeding that it seems impossible to say with a straight face that if you see A then B and C will follow. Farms in Japan are surprisingly stable genetic wise. They work with the same bloodlines for generations. If you line breed and build upon their work then many of the unknowns are answered. To me, it's all a mystery. That's the excitement and challenge. Each year is unique. How do you package that?

Luke,

Four years ago I didn't produce any shiro bekkos of worth. Three years ago it was one. Two years ago, eight or ten. This year a couple of dozen. I have always felt that when I started seeing good shiro bekkos then I would have a good gauge on how good my sanke were. It will be a number of years before I could ever hope to have enough bekkos for a grow out.

Richard

Richard, would you be willing to set aside one of your mudpond to those who live in the NorCal/Central Valley areas with Shiros from this growout contest? I sure many of us would pay to have our Shiros go to the mud...You can charge a fee and have us sign a waiver releasing all liabilites.

If they spanned the Pacific with a roadway, you'd be in Japan before the plane arrived!

Tony,

That's not the point of our current grow out contest, but I like the way you're thinking

That would be cheating.
