Will Rogers International Airport in OKC ain't exactly the air transportation hub of the world ya know, and it beats the dog squeeze out of Tulsa
Delta and United both do nonstops to LAX, and Express Jet does LA/Ontario and San Diego, but Express Jet is the only one that does non-stop from there to here
I love where I live (most of the time) but some days it really sucks to be me
Ahhhh Larry, you may want to recheck on your Delta and United info. If not mistaken, both have to go through other airports (Delta = SLC and United = Denver). Southwest goes through Phoenix. Although they may have direct flights (with a stop), I would think that for this time of year Phoenix would be a preferable stop over the other two due to weather this time of year? But only if Southwest has a direct flight through Phoenix (no change of planes).

Just some food for thought. Air Cargo is definitely the way to go though. Oh, also watch the arrival times. I had a shipment arrive on a flight into OKC on United AFTER their cargo terminal was closed for the evening and they refused to let us pick them up that night. We save the koi the next day....barely.

Thanks for bringing that up Steve! I had that happen to me as well but I talked them into letting me pick it up from baggage claim but it took a while as they had to send someone over to the freight terminal to get it. Make sure the flight lands at least an hour before they close as it takes about an hour for them to get it off the flight and to complete the paperwork etc.

In case any of you are interested I wrote a couple articles on shipping and tranporting koi for the August ZNA Potomac newsletter that you might find timely.

I have found that if you are in the freight office b4 they close, then they will give you the koi, even if they arrive after the time. But they like to know that stuff b4hand. At least in Denver anyway.

No, I have a pond with a lot of fish at home right now. I know how to take care my koi. However, my pond is small (1800gal), and I do have some nice small, and big koi in my little pond that I've brought to the show before ( and I won too)...compare to inlandkoi pond. And they're really good friends of mine, they're nice enough to keep them without charged me anything. I told them that I'll bring it home when I build a bigger pond, but not at this moment.

I think you may have misread me. Delta and United have non stops TO LAX , but only Express Jet does a Non-Stop inbound to OKC from LA/Ontario and/or San Diego.
I would definitely prefer air cargo, I just haven't found out if EJ does that service to our market yet. The MLK holiday seems to be interrupting the free flow of info from their Q&A desk...
Southwest through Phoenix might be a better option... I'll have to check on that.
