| Shower Media I am in the process of building new fiberglass trays to replace the wooden trays of my shower. At present I am using lava rock for the media. As far as I can tell this is working well. When I set up the new fiberglass trays should I keep the lava rock, or try something else? I can't afford the Bacteria House Media. What about plastic bio balls? Or black Matalla pads? |

| There is only one source here in Oklahoma that I've been able to find, so you'll likely have to do some calling around to the various landscape and quarry suppliers in your neck of the woods to find it. As far as I know it is mined exclusively on the west coast near Maries back yard... |

Yes, yes it is. I live at the foot of a volcano..... At less than a dollar a pound (I think I paid 47 cents per lb for mine) and really feather weight, you can get a lot of bang for your buck with feather rock. And I hear the FIR is off the charts.... *LOL* | |
