Take a look at your water bill. It will tell you how many units of water you use each month. A unit of water is 750 gallons. If you use 40 ubits a month rthen you are using 30,000 gallons. Divide you water bill by the number of gallons you use and then multiply it by 1000. You will have your answer.

Damn, If I worried about that amount of water, I would give up the hobby.

We change out daily through constant drip system 850 gallons, we do a 20% change once a week that is 2000 gallons add all that up and we change out approximately 11,400 gallons a month, our water bill runs between $350 and $425 every 2 months.

You are probably looking at about $10 per 1000 gallons.

I see a wide variety of filtration systems. Some have pressurized systems but most have gravity flow systems with matting and oyster shells. Mr. Sakai uses Japanese matting and replaces it every two years. I have not seen any Bakki showers at the breeders I visit. I can't tell you what the magic formula is. I think it is something you have to learn and put together for your own pond system.
