Louie,
Who had the 2 that came to the Gardena show a couple years ago?
I think they came from Taiwan!!
Do you remember how big they were?

Tom,
I believe the koi you are ref to were delivered to Gardena by Joel for one of his customers. Those koi were bred in Japan Sanke and Kohaku. Yes they were large, but one comes to mind that came to Gardena a few years back. I guess what really stuck in my mind was the tranport tank it was shipped in. This trunk like transport looked like you could have bought a nice koi for what it cost to make.If my memory serves me well it was a great Kohaku from Texas. Beth Gundersan maybe ? I am sure those 3 koi were in the 29"- 30' range.

Hi Louie, it was Beth Grundan(sp) from Texas. Kohaku was provided by Genki Koi if I remember correctly.

I know Andrew F had the largest Sanke ever show at Gardena. I think the largest Kohaku ever shown was Dukes at the ABAKS Show at 36inches plus. The largest in size of fish would have to go to my koi friend Sean here in NorCal. 2 fish over 35" and maybe 30 over 30"....

This is how rumors start. That fish was 'advertised as 40.25 inches ( a little over 1 meter) and to have grown 8 inches in in the last ten months due to the "hobbyist's care and special water".
Little more is known about this Great koi after it was remeasured by credible sources.
