Dinh,
Back home the epidemic has realy evolved. I know for a fact the the Vice President and the Former President is in the hobby. (Philippines) I won't be surprised if we hear that they will have a big show in the next few years. Known breeders have been going there attending parties and weddings.

I know Michael's son has told me Waddy has visited the PI...One of the biggest animal hobby now in the PI is Koi....

Maybe I can convince my dad to make mud pond in Ilocos, with mango trees to boarder it.

Tony,
My family have at least 25 hectares of land in Zambales. 7 already have 5 year old mango trees. There use to be a river in the middle of the property and 1 hectare tilapia grow out pond which got flattened with lahar in 1990 when Mt. Pinatubo erupted. I think that would be a good place to put a mud pond.

Hi Louie,
Michael Hernandez visited my place last year. It's nice to hear that he is judging. I know that his son got married and the godfathers were a couple of prominent japanese breeder namely Isa, Marudo, Omosako and Kentaro. I forgot the other guy. He showed me a bunch of pictures from one of their parties. I can only wish to be there.

Louie,
Just finished talking to Michael Hernandez. It is confirmed that he will be judging. I requested some picture of his sons wedding wherein these prominent breeders are sponsors (godparent). Michael said to give you his regards and also to Ginger.

Hi Brett

Last year there was a prosecution of someone keeping in New Zealand.

We have the same problem in Australia, as most of the country has laws making keeping them illegal. There are very heavy fines per koi. Fines large enough to cost you for a very long time. When the authorities locate such koi, they are immediately destroyed. Even a request to export them to a state where they are legal gets denied. It's a devasting experience for the owner.
