Nancy,

let see if I can break this down in more details.

enkoi.com banner contributes more $$$ into Brian's pocket in return Ken gets advertises and more customers which help Ken sells more fish which translate into more $$$ into Ken's pocket. the whole cycle starts again. Perfect system. no problem here. that's how biz operates.

The Koi Coach posted 3960 posts on this forum vs 2 posts fron enkoi. Brian gets no $$$ but traffic from readers who read Dick's posts. Thousands readers world wide learned something about koi from Dick. I am one of those. You might be one of them too. No one pays Dick a penny for the educational knowledge he shared. you are right. Ken contributes more than most in term of money but in term of free knowledge, the koi coach is still one of the champs on KB. furthermore, Jim said this is more for educational and that would fit the koi coach. like I said, I would vote for The Koi Coach to judge this event.

Steve

that's might be or might not be the case. I think only Brian has such of info. btw, fyi, if Brian needs money, he can sell the banner to many other advertises on non-koi related.

Ken Tran, a member of Shinkokai who has judged the biggest show of all in Japan, has my vote of confidence.

Jim North, who's putting on this contest and who picked Ken Tran to Judge, has my vote of confidence.

Brian Sousa, the owner of this forum and who picked Jim North as moderator, has my vote of confidence.

And I'm not going to offer any of them any advice on how to run the show.

The first two pics are when she was purchased and the last pic is, unfortunately, a shot "in pond". It was raining the day I took her from the q-tank to the pond as well as the day she arrived home. I will not take this fish out of the pond, just for a beauty pose. This will have to do.

Mike
Thank you Mike for your support. I love your Sakai Isawa showa! Definitely a competitor for sure!!! And Jim's tancho, WOW!!!!!

As far as judging, I trust that Ken will do a good job. Too bad I didn't have a chance to say hi when I was at his koi shop a couple of months back. Nancy, please say hi to Hung for me. My avatar, wife, and I will be down in L.A. in early May so I definitely will stop by for sure and introduce myself and my family.

I am sure that there will be many more opportunities for koi judging on this forum, so perhaps we can have the Koi Coach judge the next event. Furthermore, I know of at least two other judges who post on this forum. Perhaps they would like to participate as well.

Dang, I tried to net my koi, but even though it's cold outside, they sure can still swim purty fast. Gotta get myself a seine net!!!!!!

Yep, they were taken by Richard and they aren't the most recent. I don't have a blue bowl and it's been too cold and storming to go out and buy one, much less pull her from the pond and take current pics. Jim did say we could do that....but I can replace one of the pics with a pond pic if that would help.

Mr. Nguyen

Hey if you are not happy with the the rules and the judge that Jim has picked then don't enter your fish. Will you be complaining about the awards next? This is all done in fun. Remember Jim said he would take any picture as long as you still own the fish. So what if Richard took those pictures for Sangreal. They are great pictures. You can see the whole fish and not just one side. I did notice there was another picture that was taken by a dealer as well. So let us enjoy the fish pictures and if you are not happy with the rules then do not participate. Thanks Jim for putting this together. Remember the koi don't care....It is all about the koi!

Many of us can't have the most recent pictures....our ponds are under ice!!! I thought this was an impromptu fun thing just for learning...get anyone qualified to judge. Shouldn't be a huge deal. Just get someone who can explain well, so we can all learn something. I don't think this should be a big, political thing. Takes the fun out of it.
