Too much cold & misery.... Camellias are just passing their peak, Spring bloomers are coming on and the koi enjoy being back on daily feeding. The pond was at 70F today.

....Devil made me do it.

That ain't the BLUES!!!!

I wish I could kick back with ya and have a Pina Colada and feed some warm happy koi......Instead I drink stout beer and daydream about tropical beaches.....

But the winter has it's own romance....A romance which is friends with a peacefull insanity...No there are no flowers in bloom here but there are many plants sleeping and covered in snow....... Kind of like this...It can be nice looking?

AND if all my koi die because of the cold air......I wil make ROBOT KOI!!!! Much bigger and stronger than any koi in the universe!!!!!! I'm sure they could handle EXTREME COLD.....

This is the night I was afraid of...

This was the night I was afraid of......Tonight were going below zero.....Right now it's 4' degrees and dropping......Earlier I checked on my 6 mil cover due to high winds.....When I rubbed against the japanese maples and dwarf conifers the braches were breaking like glass....UGH!!!

i feel for you....we very rarely get in the single digits around here...only if the jet stream plays tricks and we get some artic air blowing down......i don't know how you do it over there with your ponds.....i think i would have to put mine in a greenhouse.......good luck to you and your koi.....

Good Luck!

I can't imagine your situation, I'm a born & bred California boy. I love California. I will be hopeful for you and yours tonight. Good Luck!

Dang, it was in the low 80's yesterday. While I used to live in Michigan when I was a kid, I know I don't want to go back to the cold except for skiing.

Good luck and best wishes.
