These are the ones that really stand out to me.

But I am thinking that Burt is going to love Henry's shiro, you know Burt and his shiro's.

Henry I love your Shiro, the body is very nice.. the white from the pics is outstanding, I can see quality writen all over that girl.

Jim N. I am impressed your Tancho still looks great, was it 2005 that you entered it at our koi kichi show?

Winkie, Nice maruten can't wait to see her, once she gets some gurth on that body. I am so glad you picked her over the other one.

Mike M. NICE .......friggin Kohaku what size, breeder, age

Don C. The goromo still looks great, I love the white on that fish, and the eyes are just so cute.

JanT. Your Kohaku is very nice I really love the layout, how old is she now?

Cheryl darling,

I see pic #29 are you by any chance trying to beat Henry? I think your shiro is a cute lil darlin, and I am sure she will catch Burts eye.. Shame on you for giving Henry that kind of competition.. I sure hope that our belvoved judge does pick a lil baby champ, cause that shiro has done caught my eye.

Henry's Shiro is in a class all by itself. What an amazing fish. I just love how my eyes just calmly runs down the fish all the way to the tail. Very smooth and pleasing pattern

Cindy, you've got to remember that pattern isn't the most important of a koi. Comformation is much more important and Henry's fish clearly has a better body than the other shiro entered.

Jim,

Not to create more work for you and everyone else but could we ask the participant to include breeder, age and size info on all the fish and have that posted as well? I think it would help as part of the learning exercise.

Thanks,
Dan

That it does, and quality. People seen to forget, that a fish is only as good as the competition that day. You can win GC with a fish at one show, and not even come close at the next show. Take that from my own personal experience.

And this is only a fun lil contest, judging from pics, nothing more.

Please everyone, do not bring personal issues to this thread, Lam Nguyen wanted this to be a fun learning exercise.

Thank you Nancy M for mentioning that it should be a fun thread....and so far, it's AWESOME!!! Just what I had envisioned!!!! Don, awesome work on getting the images of the two shiro side by side for comparison! CarolinaGirl, I agree that the 2nd shiro edges the 1st shiro slightly from the two images provided. I don't know much, but I think that the 2nd one has a better conformation also......anyways, just my thought. Will wait and see what the "pros" have to say!

This thread was put up to discuss the pictures that were submited in the contest. IT was not put up to add more pictures. The only pictures in the contest are the ones that are in the LOCKED thread. This thread is to discuss and critque the photos submitted nothing more. The rules were set in place on post #1. Can we get back to the original concept of this thread.
