Check your first post . I believe you are saying she is 6 yrs. old ? If so and only 21" , I would guess her growing day's are about up .

Nice Shiro , I had a Shiro from Ogata but had major secondary Hi develop so I said "4-sale" .

I am 'shiro challenged'. So, don't accept the following comments without question. I often comment mainly to generate disagreement with my thinking so I learn. First, her age is not showing on my screen. The younger she is, the more concern about body shape. The older she is, the more concerned about her growth in length. She seems thin in the back third compared to the abdominal girth. Photo angle may over-emphasize this? I would be concerned about her being too 'eggy'... careful about future egg impaction issues. At 21", I think she should be less bulky, especially if nisai or sansai. (I tend to be biased in favor of moderately thin, long nisai ans sansai.) If older, I become more concerned that she is not going to grow much more. On the positive side, I find the pattern appealing.

Mike , I guessed the age at 6 because on Jimbo's post he has "^" year old . That "^" is above the 6 with the shift key .

Yes she is 6 years old and does get very egg heavy. I don't think she will grow much if any she was a small one year old and has been slow ever since.

So you know her history, and it seems to me that you are agreeable with the present situation. So let's praise you for a nice looking SU. She has good pattern and a good contrast between the blacks and the whites.

disclaimer: semi-newbie's opinion

Don't sing the song JR!

Here's another one of my kumbaya posts...

Thank you Loma Ponder. Your writing illustrates exactly the pool into which many/most of us fit. Lovers of fish, passionate about them and their keeping and our hobby...but never meant to play in the majors with the Big Boys. I love my fish too and can overlook their weaknesses and demerits (learned THAT from having kids and grandkids). This fish would be a wonderful fish to have owned for five or six years. Congrats Jimbo.

Has your pond or pond keeping improved over this same time? Do you think you are getting or will get more growth from other fish?
