Shelf Life of Medications

It's time to do an inventory of supplies on hand and order food, etc. for the growth season ahead. I like to have medications on hand in case a need arises. Among my stock are unopened containers of Pro-Form C and Prazi-Pro that have been around over a year. There is also a supply of Fluke-Tabs that I've had since at least 2002... maybe longer. (Much prefer Prazi, but hard for me to throw away something.) What is the shelf life of these products?

Hi Mike,
I would be VERY CAREFULL on useing fluke tabs that old. Your post reminded me of a conversation on fluke tabs I had with someone. I belive it was with Tom Holder of Koi Kennel [ koi-zyme ] call him if he is not the one that gave me this imput PM me and I will check on it. Better safe than sorry prazi is not a chemical its a substance there fore safe to use in conjuction with say Pro-form C. I only know of the powder form and do not know of the bottled form as to what else it may contain. This is a smart post that hobbyist should take heed. How many times have we heard of folks haveing problems and have had to delay treatments because they have nothing to treat with ? Every hobbyist should have a ref book on treatments some supplys recommended and a clean place to store them

Mike, I bought several bottles of Prazi Pro (the liquid) for treating goldfish 2-1/2 years ago. For us, the shipping cost is almost as much as the product so it's cheaper to stock up. I still works at the recommended dosage and the bottles do not note an expiration date. However, my friend's Prazi Pond (the powder) has an expiration date on the label.

Proform C does not go bad as long as you remember to shake it up before each use.

I used to have some Fluke Tabs but they fell apart and discolored in the humidity so I tossed them. Never trusted them enough to use them anyway.
