Hi Eugene, thank you for sharing the cost of some of these tosai with us. For those that are interested, I have converted the yen prices to dollars:

#8.....38cm.....220,000 yen.....$1915
21.....37cm.....630,000 yen.....$5480
22.....37cm.....330,000 yen.....$2872

Man, I better bust out my piggy bank and go back to my Ramen noodle diet like during my college days! Thanks again Eugene!

I picked the largest 3 fish as they are likely to grow 34in and having seen the skin quality I nearly put a bid in for #22 . I was thinking of max of $3000 and I would have got it if I had only put the bid in but I thought that would go for at least $4000 so did not The pattern would look good on a 34in fish . In Oct the fish would be 24in . Since the fish will be a Nisai one has to think of it as nisai and GC material . All Momotaro fish grow so right now my tosai are growing so much that filtration is not enough I have to do large water changes and then water has to be brought up to temperature by heating . I might have to look at the Ramen noodles .
Regards
Eugene
