Ochiba

If Ochiba means 'floating leafs on water' then this must me it!
She is mine. 2.5 years old and 60cm big. I found her 3 months ago at 47cm and she is now a happy lady in my pond. Care to comment?

I'm in year 2 for finding a good Ochiba . Looks like your search is over and if I saw her at a dealer , my search would have been over too .

Very Nice , I like & want those Big Leaf Patterns on mine and also that great Netting yours has .

Troy has said positives, so I'll give a negative view: Photo makes the body seem unbalanced. The base color is dark, and is darkening the copper brown pattern. I would prefer a lighter, more blue-gray base color. ...Assuming the body is balanced in person, you've got a big gal on your hands. She will be impressive when over 30".

Thanks again. Well, the body is good. My wife is the amateur photographer and this is how she sees them on the cover of mags so this is the way she is doing it...and I'm not going to argue!!

This koi was almost black when I got it. It has improved loads since I got it and everything seems to be lighting up....even the personality!

Will keep you posted on her development.

Frankly, I would GLADLY take either, so if either of you decide you don't like the look I'll send you my shipping address

At the moment I've got my fingers crossed that at least one of ours (tosai's) will turn out nicely.
No doubt I'll have to wait a long time to find out

I found my Ochiba changes from darker to lighter depending on water temps. Has any one else noticed this. I do like the copper color better than the ochre. Unfortunately mine is the ochre color.

Yes, they become darker at summer then lighter at winter because Ochiba Shigure are genetically influenced by (old) Ogon....
