| Jomoma: I did not see the ebay fish, so cannot compare. Whenever you look at pricing on koi, understand that it is a matter of opinion ... the seller's opinion of what he believes he can get for the fish, and the buyer's opinion of worth. What seems to be slight differences to your eye may make a huge difference to someone else. Such characteristics as level of shine on a metallic fish, whether there is any black on the face, and differences in body structure may not seem much different to many people. For someone else, the differences may be crucial to whether a person even wants a fish. If the koikeeper gets as much pleasure from the $30 koi as from a $300 one, then the $30 one is right for that person. For someone else, the $30 koi may be seen as a waste of pond space. Pricing should be irrelevant to deciding which fish you prefer. It is only relevant to whether you are willing to acquire it. |
