Hi Larry, I agree, it is a great forum and I do learn a lot.

Thanks for all the positive inputs.

Be that as it may, I finally got replies from Antonio saying:

1 Sarcastically that it is a Kigoi
2 Sarcastically that I forgot to mention a Kigoi is single coloured
3 If I am a dealar, I should know what variety it is.

Wow, what a great positive input!

If a new member like me gets this type of initial repsonse on a forum, he will probably go elsewhere for help.

Looking at his other inputs, he is a huge asset to this forum, but hey, be honest, did I get a valuable decent positive response from him?
My second post I gave you an answer to your question. I was joking with you by saying I was pulling your leg. (Sorry American Humor)...

Let's start fresh: To answer your question from your first post is Beni Kikokuryu. The origins of this variety depends on the breeders. The three main breeders for awhile was Aoki, Kase and Igarashi....

Aoki bred Kumoyru and Kikisui to get his line and the same with kase....

Igarashi if my memory serves me correct, bred Kin Showa to Kumoyru...

I hope this helps...

Thanks, it reminds me that when I imported a few boxes from Kase a year ago, I got a few that were very much the same. So it is probably Kase, maybe Aoki. They are good friends and apparently often work closely together?

I think I am going to settle on Beni Kikoruryu and not Kin Kikokuryu.

Aoki and Kase are good friends and often work together then even share stocks when one fails to produce enough.

Kin is more on the metallic yellow hue...

Beni is more on the metallic orange hue...
