What is your opinion of this Sanke?

She is from SFF and her bloodline is Big Rose. She is a sansai and she measures last november 71 cm. The big question by this koi is the devolepping of the sumi on the shoulder and maybe on the rest of her body. There is not a lot of underlayerd sumi on this Sanke. Since november it is slightly getting better with that sumi, but will it get more in the future ?

Is there someone with a big Rose sanke who has a experience with that kind of sumi developping by a 3 year old?

And what is your overall opinion of this koi? don't hesitate to give your honest opinon I have a big back

Thank you in advance from Ingrid from the Netherlands

p.s. sorry that the photo is to dark by her head

It is understandable where this Sanke got here body from. The tail joint is very thick and the bodyline looks some what ok too. I was wondering what generation is this Sanke from with this type of Kohaku and Sanke spawning? At 3 years old you could probably expect a little bit more sumi but not much.

I agree Tonio. Nice fish-body and hi. I don't see traces of black showing but that could be the photo. When the black is in shadow it is hard to see without looking at the fish from various angles. Good luck-if the sumi comes you have a winner.

Fukarin: In my opinion, the best looking Sanke are those with Sumi that accents the Hi plate, that supplies highlights, rather than dominating the pattern. (For Showa, I want the Sumi to be bold and dominant.) You have Sumi coming together toward the front of the koi, at a bit at the rear. I hope a couple of strategic Sumi marks appear in-between over the next year or two. This is the sort of Sanke that it would be helpful to see photos as tosai. That would give a better idea of whether there is more to come.

Mike M,

We have an option on this sanke, maybe she is coming to our pond this summershe is swimming by the dealer, in a few days he sends me more photo's of her because her sumi has increased since november '07 when the photo was taken in Japan. I don't think he has photo's of her as a tosai, because he purchassed her as a nisai on the auction of SFF in 2006.

Our dealer is not afraid that the sumi will not come, he said she is still a young koi with a good future.

thank you all of your opinion...
Ingrid

The current pictures make her look even better. Sumi is almost done-not much more to come?

Based on Momotaro and Matsonusuke sanke I raised I do not think that you are going to get more sumi than you can see comeing through . The only thing that bothers me if it is blurred kiwa in centre of fish on first photo , it might just be photo ,as Kiwa I have found does not seem to improve it becomes worse with age . Otherwise it looks like a great fish wish I had it .
Regards
Eugene
