Momotaro Kohaku (tosai)

Hello ,

I am new on this forum.
I am from Holland, so if my English is bad, I 'am sorry.

I have seen a nice tosai kohaku of Momotaro.
What do You think of this kohaku and do You think the sashi will improve.
Good or bad reactions are welcome.

Thank you.

Best regards,

RelaxZen

I very much like your Kohaku. How old? The body has the long, streamlined shape of one that will begin to bulk up only after a few years. The sashi concerns me only because it is not the same depth on all the steps. But, I defer to others on how it is likely to develop. If it was similar on all steps, I would not be concerned now, because she has the look of one with much more growth to come. The pattern is unconventional, but pleasant. Many will not acquire a Kohaku with the beni covering so much of the face. If the beni is thick, deep and even, I do not mind. When she reaches her full length and gains bulk, the face pattern will have 'character'. I tend to be attracted to unusual face patterns. ... I wish the photo gave a closer look at the beni. I know you will enjoy her.

I do not think that sashi improves a lot never happened with my fish . When fish are graded at the farm and one is sold to the dealer for $100 that is what the breeder detemined what it was worth and in turn if it is sold for $1000 again that is the value what the breeder sells to his client for is completely diffrent what dealer sells for as he determines the value . It is a nice fish but I would say it was picked out of the lower priced ones .
A better photo would help as well as age size do you know parantige , what did you pay ?
Regards
Eugene

After reading what Eugeneg posted I went back and looked at the fish again.
And I completely disagree with him. he could be correct, but I see that the white is thin all over and especially shows to be semi-clear on the pecs. As the fish ages I believe that the white will thicken alot more.

Thanks for the replies.

I haven't bought this fish yet. It's coming to Europe in april, together with some other nice tosai.
The length of the fish is about 28 centimeter.
It's not of the lower prices.
Parents I don't know yet.

The pattern is for me very beautifull. I like it more than a original two step ore somthing.

I also got an option of a tosai showa. BLoodline Shiro Showa.
I think it's nice to.
The overall quality is better i think

greetings
