08 Gardena's Mature Champion Sanke.

As I headed down to Gardena Saturday afternoon on the 405 traffic, I wanted to see the hype of the big fish. As I made my rounds with my good koi friend Khung we stopped by Perry's tank with the Sanke Mature Champion in it. Khung said the Sanke's pec fin had some damage to it, but I told him that fish was healing and it would be a forgiving factor to the judges. I also told him it is rare to see such an old style Sanke(Jimbei origins) so refine, even with the minor faults it had. This fish's girth came up quite alot from last I had seen it, but still has a strong lasting impression on me. It even made me forget about the big fish entered at the show, well maybe not Michael Chua's Shiro which in the near future I feel will take a GC prize.

Breeder of Sanke: Ogata
Dealer handler: Eastern Koi
Owner: Perry Nguyen

One of my absolute favorites, too, Tony.

Maybe JR will be kind enough to weigh in?

I sure hope he does. He explained a lot about the sanke.
