PP and Elbagin share nothing in common, IMHO.

When dosed at 10 grams of Elbagin per 250 gallons of water (and .5% salt) there is no harmfull effect on bio-filtration in my experience.

consider also that some medicines, and more likely antibiotics, disrupt the population of potential harmful organisms at some specific point in their life cycle or require extended contact at low dosages and therefore must be present for extended periods of time to have an impact, or be present at the time that inoculation may occur and nip the damage in the bud...

I'm a true believer in this product. It saved a Kohaku of mine some time ago. She since has taken Young champ in Chicago a few years back. Now we're just growing her out. I tried several injectible antibiotics...to no avail. Took the advice of my dealer and used this at 10 grams per ton in connection with .6% salt for two weeks in my Q-tank (water change after first week). I was amazed at how well it worked. The ulcer was well into to body cavity where you could see her interal organs. The ulcer was approximately 1 inch in front of the vent. Bad place for an ulcer. This literally was a dead fish swimming.

I have never used it as a dip. It has never knocked back my filters. I use it in transport and at lower dosages with new fish for only a few days to help calm them and with transport stess. Works well for me.
