Humans Eat Humans

About as often as koi eat koi and this title has about the same percentage of truth as Luke's "koi eat koi" title has. Yepper, exceptions for sure but not the rule and to mislead people in thinking otherwise is simply.....misleading!

Remember, "Solent Green is People"!

yeah maybe they dont do it (as a rule) unless the circumstances allow for it but i have about 30 foot long fish that at feeding time will often chase fingerlings around and leave the food alone, yet other days theyll be happy to graze on pellets. ive seen em come up and smash 30mm fish from below, ive seen them with smaller fish stuck in their mouths and ive seen big breeders suck mature 7cm swordtails in right in half leaving just tails. it may not happen everywhere but what i call bullshit is that kois dont eat high protein things. they love eating live bearers as much as they love eating the runt koi. probably more.

to really get under everyones skin i know a guy that feeds his koi dogfood pellets and has done for over five years and they dont seem to mind too much.
they get other natural stuff too though.
theyll eat whats they have to to survive. if you feed em food they wont chase stuff around needlessly.
they tend to leave the dead ones alone though..

so maybe peoples understanding of this depends upon what they see going on in their pond. if my pond was full of giant humans the biggest humans would be doing round ups on the smaller ones when they are busy looking at food. some say if you keep em full they wont bother.

My great Grandfather 'Hairy' practiced cannibalism. He cooked mostly the cave people that were crushed by heavy snow fall.
