Specs info

Model: CL-10
Pump: Performance Pro Cascade C1/8-36
Intake: No Niche Skimmer
Pond: 2000 gal
Load: Heavy

I have one pump and one skimmer dedicated to the Clarity unit. I selected the filter/pump combo based on the flow requirements of the Clarity and the performance curve of this pump. The data provided an efficient match both in flow and energy consumption.

Satisfaction wise; I'm happy, mainly because this unit has somewhat created an "open" system for my pond. Instead of just re-circulating water thru the filter system; adding the Clarity unit created a way (outside of water changes) to effectively filter and continually discharge bad water. One of these days I would like the discharged water to be analized and find out what it's really pulling out.

Lastly, my koi are very happy, zero issues last year with illness and i haven't not used my UV light in over a year. Is this all because of the Clarity? Probably not, but it's everything working together including routine pond maintenance.

I hope this added some insight, have a nice day .

Thanks for posting those pix, Erwin.

If possible, now you've got us looking forward to getting our unit up and running more than ever.

Not sure what the factory specs are for flow, but Anthony suggested a 1/8 hp pump (dialed back a bit with a ball valve) for this unit.

So even after the Ultima and all the pipe we'll be running, I'm sure we'll have more than enough flow. Heck, we'll probably have too much.

Don

Did you say you'll be running an 1/8th hp pump through an Ultima and THEN through the clarity unit? What size Ultima are you going to be using? What's the brand/ flow rate for this pump? What are your expectations of flow after the Ultima filter and what does the Clarity Unit require for best results?

Mike

Don,
I don't think the 1/8 hp pump will work if it is goona pass through an ultima. Probably will work better if it is going straight to the tower and nothing in between the pump and the clarity.

Thanks Erwin,

I am sure all the pics and pond info will help Don and others who are thinking of adding this unit.

Mike and Michael . . .

Anthony recommended a 1/8 hp pump (dialed back with a ball valve) for stand alone operation.

I'm thinking we're going to want to run it through the Ultima II 6K filter first, then to the Clarity unit, and that the existing 1/4 hp Artesian PP pump can be used.

Once Frank gets a look-see at the unit and it's specs, I'm sure he'll work it all out.
