Hi Don, it looks like Erwin is having a lot of success with this Clarity unit and I have a feeling that you will too. Please share with all of us how you installed it. I am starting to design my main outdoor pond, so it would be nice to know how effective it is and whether I need to incorporate one into my pond.

Very interesting device. I will be putting one on a friend's 24,000 gallon pond soon.

I wonder if the thing has to sit right by the pond? For the application I have, it will have to be hid out somewhere. Can't be having no parts from a nuclear power plant out front....

Also, can it be hooked up after an Ultima II? If the flow rate is too high, can a side stream be taken from the Ultima II discharge for the device, the rest of the filtered discharge going straight to the pond?

I can't wait til the thing comes in.

This pond has crystal clear water (whaddaya expect, I designed it) but always just a tinch of foam by one of the gravity returns. Usually I just dip it out once a week with a fine mesh net, but I'd rather not have to do so....

This thing oughta fix that problem.

Brett

Brett, The Batemans' have their about 25' away from the pond, discharging back into a stream that feeds back to the pond.

That's the plan, Brett: Split the line after the Ultima, use a ball valve to optimize flow to the Clarity unit and route excess flow to the existing return.

Hello Saratogatan

Of course it will do its job, as i recall there are no argue on this board that wet/dry down flow filters are effective (just seek for trickle towers on the treads). The bioballs used is normal but, large size. This to counter the worst problems off wet/dry filters, buildup of solids.
The units drawback is cleaning possibility (no good ones exists and can't be easy maid) and the price even for a nice outer design ist still not an complex unit.
The collector is of nice design on the carbon model and gives a good scrap to waist effect.
It will function better the worse you water is and do not address hormones or many other issues so and end to water change is not my description. This trickle tower with foam scrape is a good and nicely maid addition to an popper koisystem.

Hope this will boom trickle towers, and we also see it as an normal rebuild under Bakki systems instead of letting the foam form directly in the ponds. The best is that bigger and better designed towers will become available if this catches on (so much easier than building them in PVC)

Have had this scrape function on my triple waterfall since 1998 just with a 5mm rubber sheet strip and this gives almost zero foam on lowest waterfall into pond. Just remember to give the watercourse a couple of feet's to build foam in liner currents

Ps!

Yes we have tested them one unit in a high density Nishikigoi outlet in Germany and back her in Norway. These unit will not function on low levels of Nitrate. It will also fluctuated under weather and other natural cycles. It will not fluctuate as much as many of the existing units, this we credite to proper size and good flow. Most foam fractioner available (also trickle towers) are just to darn small. “What the man wants, the man gets” is springs to mind.
In Germany we could not get it running and could not hugest that the owner started keeping worse water to get it running.

EDIT: closer look at the pictures answered my first question.

I don't see a price or sizes / max flow numbers on Anthony's site...?
